There are certain assignment opportunities that make working for the Daily Cal so worthwhile. This past Saturday was one such occasion; I got to shoot Van Morrison in concert, and then stay and watch the whole show. Now, I’m by no means a Van Morrison aficionado, but wow, was the man good.
The only downside to the whole scenario was our shooting point, it wasn’t up at the stage before the pit. Had I known the situation before, I would have taken the extender. Unfortunately, the 70-200 wasn’t quite powerful enough, but I did manage to take a few decent photos, as well as this image that I really love.
All in all, great show, and a reminder to always be prepared for unforeseen obstacles.
